How to add Affiliate HTML Code to Blogger from SchoolhouseTeachers.com

This is a quick how to that will help you to add a link to your blogger blog post from SchoolhouseTeachers.com that will include your affiliate information (so you can get the credit if someone clicks through and makes a purchase).

1. Write your post.

2. Highlight the text that you want to add the link to.
     Example: SchoolhouseTeachers.com Student Planner

3. Now click the Link icon at the top of your 'Compose' page (this is just the place that you are typing your blog post, nothing fancy). If Blogger decides it knows better than you and wants to put in an automatic web address, then just select the 'Change' option. Otherwise, a new window pops up and you can enter your customized affiliate link in the box under the "To what URL should this link go?" statement

4. Now enter the HTML code. This might be the tricky bit but once you understand how it works, it's easy.
HERE is the base HTML code for a SchoolhouseTeachers.com affiliate link:

https://schoolhouseteachers.com/dap/a/?a=99999&p=www.example.com/somepage.html

ANATOMY of an HTML affiliate link:

        - the 99999 number needs to be changed to YOUR affiliate membership number. This you find by logging into SchoolhouseTeachers.com and then selecting the 'Earn Money!' drop down at the top of the web page and select 'Your Affiliate Earnings'. That takes you to a page which includes your Affiliate Performance Summary, Affiliate Links, and Payment Details. Your Affiliate number is listed in the Aff ID column of the Performance Summary Table on the page.

       - The www.example.com/somepage.html part of the link needs to be changed to whatever link you would like to have your post link to. In our example, this is the SchoolhouseTeachers.com Student Planner. So you navigate to the Student planner and check the navigation bar at the top of your browser. The link to the Schoolhouse Planners is https://schoolhouseteachers.com/member-resources/schoolhouse-planners/ so you replace www.example.com/somepage.html in the affiliate link with www.schoolhouseteachers.com/member-resources/schoolhouse-planners.

And so your final affiliate link for the Schoolhouse Planners, if your affiliate link were, say 12345, is

https://schoolhouseteachers.com/dap/a/?a=12345&p=www.schoolhouseteachers.com/member-resources/schoolhouse-planners

The only really tricky bit was that I added a 'www' in front of the link I found for the student planners and deleted the https:// part. That is just a little bit of formating that once you know to do, everything is easy.
